Chapter XI · Śloka 49
mā te vyathā mā ca vimūḍha-bhāvo
dṛṣṭvā rūpaṃ ghoram īdṛṅ mamedam |
vyapeta-bhīḥ prīta-manāḥ punas tvaṃ
tad eva me rūpam idaṃ prapaśya ||
Be not afraid and be not bewildered on seeing such a terrible form of Mine. With your fear dispelled and mind gladdened, behold again this form of Mine.
The pastoral tenderness in Krishna's voice here balances the cosmic terror of what preceded it. The divine that dissolved the world now speaks like a father calming a frightened child: look again, there is nothing to fear.
