Chapter XVI · Śloka 8
असत्यमप्रतिष्ठं ते जगदाहुरनीश्वरम् ।
अपरस्परसम्भूतं किमन्यत्कामहैतुकम् ॥

asatyam apratiṣṭhaṃ te jagad āhur anīśvaram |
aparaspara-sambhūtaṃ kim anyat kāma-haitukam ||
aparaspara-sambhūtaṃ kim anyat kāma-haitukam ||
They say: 'The universe is without truth, without a moral foundation, without a God; it is brought about by mutual union, caused by nothing but lust — what else?'
The demoniac worldview is materialist and nihilist: no ultimate reality, no cosmic order, no divine ground — only random sexual combination producing life. This denial of Īśvara and ṛta (moral-cosmic order) is the philosophical underpinning of their destructive behaviour.
