The Blessed Lord said: The sages understand sannyāsa as the relinquishment of desire-motivated actions; the discerning declare tyāga to be the abandonment of the fruits of all actions.
Krishna draws a clear distinction: sannyāsa is the renunciation of karmic acts driven by personal desire, while tyāga is the surrender of all fruits — a subtler and more universal practice applicable within action itself.
