The steadfastness by which one sustains the activities of the mind, the vital breath, and the senses through unwavering yoga — that steadfastness, O Pārtha, is sāttvic.
Sāttvic resolve is the unbroken thread that holds together the mind, the vital energies, and the senses in the discipline of yoga, never wavering. It is not the willpower that white-knuckles through difficulty, but the quiet, steady constancy of one established in the self.
