Chapter XVIII · Śloka 58
मच्चित्तः सर्वदुर्गाणि मत्प्रसादात्तरिष्यसि ।
अथ चेत्त्वमहंकारान्न श्रोष्यसि विनङ्क्ष्यसि ॥

mac-cittaḥ sarva-durgāṇi mat-prasādāt tariṣyasi |
atha cet tvam ahaṃkārān na śroṣyasi vinaṅkṣyasi ||
atha cet tvam ahaṃkārān na śroṣyasi vinaṅkṣyasi ||
With your mind fixed on Me, you will pass beyond all difficulties by My grace. But if from egoism you do not listen, you will perish.
Divine grace is the boat that crosses all obstacles, but egoism stops the ears and sinks the boat. The stark contrast between grace-filled surrender and ego-driven defiance is laid out plainly.
