अन्नाद्भवन्ति भूतानि पर्जन्यादन्नसम्भवः |
यज्ञाद्भवति पर्जन्यो यज्ञः कर्मसमुद्भवः ||
यज्ञाद्भवति पर्जन्यो यज्ञः कर्मसमुद्भवः ||
annād bhavanti bhūtāni parjanyād anna-sambhavaḥ |
yajñād bhavati parjanyo yajñaḥ karma-samudbhavaḥ ||
yajñād bhavati parjanyo yajñaḥ karma-samudbhavaḥ ||
From food all beings come into existence; from rain food is produced; from sacrifice rain comes forth; sacrifice arises from action.
Krishna traces the entire chain of material existence back through action to sacrifice. The sequence is not mythology but a cosmological vision in which human intentional action (karma) participates in the very generation of life.
