Chapter III · Śloka 6
कर्मेन्द्रियाणि संयम्य य आस्ते मनसा स्मरन् |
इन्द्रियार्थान्विमूढात्मा मिथ्याचारः स उच्यते ||

karmendriyāṇi saṃyamya ya āste manasā smaran |
indriyārthān vimūḍhātmā mithyācāraḥ sa ucyate ||
indriyārthān vimūḍhātmā mithyācāraḥ sa ucyate ||
One who restrains the organs of action but sits mentally dwelling on objects of the senses — that deluded person is called a hypocrite.
Outer renunciation without inner transformation is mere performance. The hands are still while the mind feasts on what it craves — such a person has the form of an ascetic but none of the freedom.
