Chapter IV · Śloka 30
अपरे नियताहाराः प्राणान्प्राणेषु जुह्वति |
सर्वेऽप्येते यज्ञविदो यज्ञक्षपितकल्मषाः ||
apare niyatāhārāḥ prāṇān prāṇeṣu juhvati |
sarve 'py ete yajña-vido yajña-kṣapita-kalmaṣāḥ ||
Others, with regulated eating, offer the vital breaths into the vital breaths. All these are knowers of sacrifice, and through sacrifice their impurities are burnt away.
Even the discipline of diet — eating moderately and consciously — is a form of sacrificial offering. All these practitioners, through their respective disciplines, burn away the impurities that veil the self.
