Chapter IV · Śloka 42
तस्मादज्ञानसम्भूतं हृत्स्थं ज्ञानासिनाऽऽत्मनः |
छित्त्वैनं संशयं योगमातिष्ठोत्तिष्ठ भारत ||
tasmād ajñāna-sambhūtaṃ hṛt-sthaṃ jñānāsinātmanaḥ |
chittvainaṃ saṃśayaṃ yogam ātiṣṭhottiṣṭha bhārata ||
Therefore, with the sword of knowledge cut asunder this doubt born of ignorance that dwells in your heart. Take refuge in yoga. Stand up, O Bhārata.
The chapter closes with a command: cut the doubt that lives in the heart — not with argument, but with the sword of self-knowledge — then rise and act. The two imperatives, yoga and action, are inseparable. The teaching is complete; now it must be lived.
