Chapter V · Śloka 11
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
कायेन मनसा बुद्ध्या केवलैरिन्द्रियैरपि |
योगिनः कर्म कुर्वन्ति सङ्गं त्यक्त्वात्मशुद्धये ||
योगिनः कर्म कुर्वन्ति सङ्गं त्यक्त्वात्मशुद्धये ||
kāyena manasā buddhyā kevalair indriyair api |
yoginaḥ karma kurvanti saṅgaṃ tyaktvātma-śuddhaye ||
yoginaḥ karma kurvanti saṅgaṃ tyaktvātma-śuddhaye ||
The yogis, abandoning attachment, perform action with body, mind, intellect, and even the senses alone — for the purification of the self.
Every faculty is engaged — not suppressed — but the engagement is undertaken without the sticky residue of attachment. Action itself becomes the purifying fire when offered inwardly, without clinging to what the action might bring.
