Chapter V · Śloka 28
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
यतेन्द्रियमनोबुद्धिर्मुनिर्मोक्षपरायणः |
विगतेच्छाभयक्रोधो यः सदा मुक्त एव सः ||
विगतेच्छाभयक्रोधो यः सदा मुक्त एव सः ||
yatendriya-mano-buddhir munir mokṣa-parāyaṇaḥ |
vigated-icchā-bhaya-krodho yaḥ sadā mukta eva saḥ ||
vigated-icchā-bhaya-krodho yaḥ sadā mukta eva saḥ ||
The sage who has controlled senses, mind, and intellect, who is intent on liberation, from whom desire, fear, and anger have departed — that one is eternally free.
The second half of the meditation instruction resolves into its fruit: the one who has gathered all faculties into the single aspiration of liberation, and who has thereby moved past the three great binding forces — desire, fear, and anger — is declared perpetually free, in this very life.
