Chapter VII · Śloka 19
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
बहूनां जन्मनामन्ते ज्ञानवान्मां प्रपद्यते ।
वासुदेवः सर्वमिति स महात्मा सुदुर्लभः ॥
वासुदेवः सर्वमिति स महात्मा सुदुर्लभः ॥
bahūnāṃ janmanām ante jñānavān māṃ prapadyate |
vāsudevaḥ sarvam iti sa mahātmā sudurlabhaḥ ||
vāsudevaḥ sarvam iti sa mahātmā sudurlabhaḥ ||
At the end of many births the person of wisdom surrenders to Me, knowing 'Vāsudeva is all.' Such a great soul is very rare indeed.
The culmination of the spiritual journey across many lives is the direct recognition that Vāsudeva (the all-pervading Lord) is everything — not as a philosophical conclusion but as lived, transformative knowing that triggers complete surrender. The qualifier sudurlabhaḥ (extremely rare) is not pessimism but emphasis on the preciousness of this realisation.
