Chapter VII · Śloka 26
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
वेदाहं समतीतानि वर्तमानानि चार्जुन ।
भविष्याणि च भूतानि मां तु वेद न कश्चन ॥
भविष्याणि च भूतानि मां तु वेद न कश्चन ॥
vedāhaṃ samatītāni vartamānāni cārjuna |
bhaviṣyāṇi ca bhūtāni māṃ tu veda na kaścana ||
bhaviṣyāṇi ca bhūtāni māṃ tu veda na kaścana ||
I know all beings that are past, present, and future, O Arjuna; but no one knows Me.
Omniscience is here claimed absolutely — Krishna knows all three times simultaneously, because time itself unfolds within his consciousness. The asymmetry is total: the knower of all is known by none, a statement of the irreducible transcendence of the Absolute even while it is immanent in everything.
