Chapter VII · Śloka 6
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
एतद्योनीनि भूतानि सर्वाणीत्युपधारय ।
अहं कृत्स्नस्य जगतः प्रभवः प्रलयस्तथा ॥
etad yonīni bhūtāni sarvāṇīty upadhāraya |
ahaṃ kṛtsnasya jagataḥ prabhavaḥ pralayas tathā ||
Understand that all beings have their origin in these two natures. I am the source and dissolution of the entire universe.
All of existence — conscious and unconscious — arises from the interplay of these two natures (parā and aparā), and both natures belong to Krishna. He is therefore both the efficient cause (prabhava, origin) and the final cause (pralaya, dissolution) of all that is.
