Chapter VIII · Śloka 18
अव्यक्ताद्व्यक्तयः सर्वाः प्रभवन्त्यहरागमे ।
रात्र्यागमे प्रलीयन्ते तत्रैवाव्यक्तसंज्ञके ॥

avyaktād vyaktayaḥ sarvāḥ prabhavantv ahar-āgame |
rātry-āgame pralīyante tatraivāvyakta-saṃjñake ||
rātry-āgame pralīyante tatraivāvyakta-saṃjñake ||
At the coming of Brahmā's day all manifestations emerge from the Unmanifest; at the coming of his night they dissolve back into that which is called the Unmanifest.
The entire manifest universe undergoes a perpetual cosmic rhythm: during Brahmā's day the unmanifest (avyakta) pours forth into multiplicity; at cosmic night all returns to undifferentiated potentiality.
