Drupada, the sons of Draupadi, and the mighty-armed son of Subhadra — O lord of the earth — all blew their respective conch-shells.
Sanjaya addresses the blind king as lord of the earth — pṛthivī-pate — even as that earth is being contested by his own blindness. The Pandava conches ring out one by one, each a separate voice joining the chorus that has summoned this apocalyptic morning.
