Sañjaya uvāca
स घोषो धार्तराष्ट्राणां हृदयानि व्यदारयत् |
nabhश्च पृथिवीं चैव तुमुलो व्यनुनादयन् ||

sa ghoṣo dhārtarāṣṭrāṇāṃ hṛdayāni vyadārayat |

The tumultuous uproar, resounding through both sky and earth, shattered the hearts of Dhritarashtra's sons.
The sound does not merely reach the Kauravas — it shatters their hearts. Before a single arrow flies, the sonic assault of the Pandava conches has accomplished something: it has cracked Duryodhana's composure and confirmed what he privately feared.
