Chapter X · Śloka 24
पुरोधसां च मुख्यं मां विद्धि पार्थ बृहस्पतिम् ।
सेनानीनामहं स्कन्दः सरसामस्मि सागरः ॥
purodhasāṃ ca mukhyaṃ māṃ viddhi pārtha bṛhaspatim |
senānīnām ahaṃ skandaḥ sarasām asmi sāgaraḥ ||
Among priests know Me as the chief, Bṛhaspati, O Pārtha; among war-leaders I am Skanda; among bodies of water I am the ocean.
Bṛhaspati, preceptor of the gods, embodies the highest priestly wisdom and eloquence. Skanda (Kārttikeya), the divine war-god born of Śiva, commands all armies, while the boundless ocean dwarfs every other body of water.
