Chapter X · Śloka 32
सर्गाणामादिरन्तश्च मध्यं चैवाहमर्जुन ।
अध्यात्मविद्या विद्यानां वादः प्रवदतामहम् ॥
अध्यात्मविद्या विद्यानां वादः प्रवदतामहम् ॥
sargāṇām ādir antaś ca madhyaṃ caivāham arjuna |
adhyātma-vidyā vidyānāṃ vādaḥ pravadatām aham ||
adhyātma-vidyā vidyānāṃ vādaḥ pravadatām aham ||
Among creations I am the beginning, the end, and the middle, O Arjuna; among all forms of knowledge I am the knowledge of the Self (adhyātma-vidyā); and among those who debate I am the reasoned dialectic (vāda).
The Lord is not merely present at creation's edges but permeates its entire continuity. Adhyātma-vidyā, the science of the Self, is the summit of all knowledge, and vāda — honest, truth-seeking discourse — is elevated above mere eristic or sophistic debate.
