Chapter X · Śloka 6
महर्षयः सप्त पूर्वे चत्वारो मनवस्तथा |
मद्भावा मानसा जाता येषां लोक इमाः प्रजाः ||
मद्भावा मानसा जाता येषां लोक इमाः प्रजाः ||
maharṣayaḥ sapta pūrve catvāro manavas tathā |
mad-bhāvā mānasā jātā yeṣāṃ loka imāḥ prajāḥ ||
mad-bhāvā mānasā jātā yeṣāṃ loka imāḥ prajāḥ ||
The seven great sages of old, and likewise the four Manus, were born of My mind and are endowed with My nature; from them all these creatures in the world have descended.
Krishna grounds cosmic genealogy in Himself: the seven primordial rishis and the Manus who populated the ages sprang from His divine thought. All of humanity traces its lineage back to this origin.
