सखेति मत्वा प्रसभं यदुक्तं
हे कृष्ण हे यादव हे सखेति |
अजानता महिमानं तवेदं
मया प्रमादात्प्रणयेन वापि ||
हे कृष्ण हे यादव हे सखेति |
अजानता महिमानं तवेदं

sakheti matvā prasabhaṃ yad uktaṃ
he kṛṣṇa he yādava he sakheti |
ajānatā mahimānaṃ tavedam
mayā pramādāt praṇayena vāpi ||
he kṛṣṇa he yādava he sakheti |
ajānatā mahimānaṃ tavedam
mayā pramādāt praṇayena vāpi ||
Whatever I have rashly said out of familiarity, addressing You as 'O Kṛṣṇa,' 'O Yādava,' 'O my friend' — not knowing this glory of Yours — through negligence or through love, please forgive all that.
This is among the most human moments in the Gita. Arjuna suddenly remembers every casual word, every teasing remark, every moment he treated his divine companion as merely his friend — and the memory becomes unbearable.
