Chapter XI · Śloka 47
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
श्रीभगवानुवाच |
मया प्रसन्नेन तवार्जुनेदं
रूपं परं दर्शितमात्मयोगात् |
तेजोमयं विश्वमनन्तमाद्यं
यन्मे त्वदन्येन न दृष्टपूर्वम् ||
śrī-bhagavān uvāca |
mayā prasannena tavārjunedaṃ
rūpaṃ paraṃ darśitam ātma-yogāt |
tejo-mayaṃ viśvam anantam ādyaṃ
yan me tvad anyena na dṛṣṭa-pūrvam ||
The Blessed Lord said: O Arjuna, being pleased with you I have shown you, by My own divine power, this supreme form — resplendent, universal, infinite, and primal — which no one before you has ever seen.
Krishna draws the vision to a close by marking its rarity: this form — the totality of the cosmos as a single divine body — has never been granted to another. The gift was one of grace, not technique.
