Chapter XIII · Śloka 15
सर्वेन्द्रियगुणाभासं सर्वेन्द्रियविवर्जितम् ।
असक्तं सर्वभृच्चैव निर्गुणं गुणभोक्तृ च ॥
sarvendriya-guṇābhāsaṃ sarvendriya-vivarjitam |
asaktaṃ sarva-bhṛc caiva nirguṇaṃ guṇa-bhoktṛ ca ||
Appearing as the functions of all the senses yet devoid of all senses; unattached yet sustaining all; beyond the guṇas yet the enjoyer of the guṇas —
Brahman illumines sensory experience without itself being a sensory entity — the light behind all perception. Though it supports and pervades all that is, It remains untouched and unbound; It is beyond the three guṇas yet is their substratum and apparent experiencer.
