Chapter XIII · Śloka 16
बहिरन्तश्च भूतानामचरं चरमेव च ।
सूक्ष्मत्वात्तदविज्ञेयं दूरस्थं चान्तिके च तत् ॥
सूक्ष्मत्वात्तदविज्ञेयं दूरस्थं चान्तिके च तत् ॥
bahir antaś ca bhūtānām araṃ caram eva ca |
sūkṣmatvāt tad avijñeyaṃ dūra-sthaṃ cāntike ca tat ||
sūkṣmatvāt tad avijñeyaṃ dūra-sthaṃ cāntike ca tat ||
Outside and inside all beings, the unmoving and also the moving; because of Its subtlety, unknowable; far away and yet near.
Brahman is simultaneously the inner Self and the outer world, the still substratum and the dynamic play of creation. Its subtlety makes It inaccessible to the senses and intellect, yet It is intimately closer than the closest — the very being of all beings.
