महाभूतान्यहङ्कारो बुद्धिरव्यक्तमेव च ।
इन्द्रियाणि दशैकं च पञ्च चेन्द्रियगोचराः ॥

mahā-bhūtāny ahaṅkāro buddhir avyaktam eva ca |
indriyāṇi daśaikaṃ ca pañca cendriya-gocarāḥ ||

The great elements, the ego (ahaṅkāra), intellect (buddhi), the unmanifest (avyakta), the ten senses and the one (mind), and the five objects of the senses —
Kṛṣṇa begins the Sāṅkhya enumeration of the field: the five great elements, ego, intellect, primordial nature, the five sense organs, the five action organs plus mind (eleven total), and the five sense objects — twenty-four principles in all.
