Chapter XIV · Śloka 6
तत्र सत्त्वं निर्मलत्वात्प्रकाशकमनामयम् ।
सुखसङ्गेन बध्नाति ज्ञानसङ्गेन चानघ ॥

tatra sattvaṃ nirmalatvāt prakāśakam anāmayam |
sukha-saṅgena badhnāti jñāna-saṅgena cānagha ||
sukha-saṅgena badhnāti jñāna-saṅgena cānagha ||
Among these, sattva, being pure, is illuminating and free from sickness; it binds, O sinless one, by attachment to happiness and by attachment to knowledge.
Sattva illumines and promotes well-being, yet it too is a bondage — the subtle attachment to the pleasure of clarity and the pride of knowing keep the soul tethered.
