Chapter XVI · Śloka 11
चिन्तामपरिमेयां च प्रलयान्तामुपाश्रिताः ।
कामोपभोगपरमा एतावदिति निश्चिताः ॥

cintām aparimeyāṃ ca pralayāntām upāśritāḥ |
kāmopabhoga-paramā etāvad iti niścitāḥ ||

Bound by immeasurable anxieties ending only in death, regarding gratification of desire as the highest aim, convinced that this is all there is —
The demoniac are trapped in an irony: pursuing pleasure as the supreme good, they live in boundless anxiety (cintā aparimeyā) that lasts until death. Their conviction that sensory enjoyment exhausts reality (etāvad iti niścitāḥ) is both their creed and their prison.
