Chapter XVI · Śloka 5
daivī sampad vimokṣāya nibandhāyāsurī matā |
mā śucaḥ sampadaṃ daivīm abhijāto 'si pāṇḍava ||
mā śucaḥ sampadaṃ daivīm abhijāto 'si pāṇḍava ||
The divine endowment leads to liberation; the demoniac is deemed to lead to bondage. Do not grieve, O Pāṇḍava — you are born to the divine endowment.
Krishna reassures Arjuna directly: the divine qualities are not aspirational goals but his birth-nature. The verse clarifies the telos of the two paths — liberation versus bondage — and prevents the preceding analysis from becoming a source of anxiety.
