Ostentation, arrogance, self-conceit, anger, harshness, and ignorance — these belong to one born to the demoniac endowment, O Pārtha.
The demoniac cluster is strikingly brief: six traits rooted in a single source, ajñāna — ignorance of the true self and of dharma. Arrogance and self-conceit (darpa and abhimāna) are the inner disposition; harshness (pāruṣya) is its social expression.
