Chapter XVIII · Śloka 72
कच्चिदेतच्छ्रुतं पार्थ त्वयैकाग्रेण चेतसा ।
कच्चिदज्ञानसम्मोहः प्रनष्टस्ते धनञ्जय ॥
कच्चिदज्ञानसम्मोहः प्रनष्टस्ते धनञ्जय ॥
kaccid etac chrutaṃ pārtha tvayaikāgreṇa cetasā |
kaccid ajñāna-sammohaḥ pranaṣṭas te dhanañjaya ||
kaccid ajñāna-sammohaḥ pranaṣṭas te dhanañjaya ||
Has this been heard by you, O Pārtha, with a one-pointed mind? Has the delusion born of ignorance been destroyed, O Dhanañjaya?
Krishna gently checks the receptivity of His student before the teaching closes — a mark of the true teacher who cares not only for what is spoken but for what is received. The question itself is an invitation for Arjuna's self-assessment.
