Chapter II · Śloka 57
यः सर्वत्रानभिस्नेहस्तत्तत्प्राप्य शुभाशुभम् |
नाभिनन्दति न द्वेष्टि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता ||

yaḥ sarvatrānabhisnehas tat tat prāpya śubhāśubham |
nābhinandati na dveṣṭi tasya prajñā pratiṣṭhitā ||

One who has no attachment anywhere, who neither rejoices upon receiving good nor recoils upon receiving evil — that one's wisdom is firmly established.
Anabhisneha is not coldness or indifference to others but freedom from the sticky clinging that makes every event a potential catastrophe or windfall. The wise person participates fully in life while remaining internally unshaken.
