Chapter IV · Śloka 39
श्रद्धावाँल्लभते ज्ञानं तत्परः संयतेन्द्रियः |
ज्ञानं लब्ध्वा परां शान्तिमचिरेणाधिगच्छति ||
ज्ञानं लब्ध्वा परां शान्तिमचिरेणाधिगच्छति ||
śraddhāvāl labhate jñānaṃ tat-paraḥ saṃyatendriyaḥ |
jñānaṃ labdhvā parāṃ śāntim acireṇādhigacchati ||
jñānaṃ labdhvā parāṃ śāntim acireṇādhigacchati ||
One who has faith, who is dedicated to it, and who has mastered the senses — such a one attains knowledge, and having attained knowledge, swiftly reaches supreme peace.
Three conditions: faith (śraddhā), dedication, and sense-mastery. These are not preconditions that take a lifetime to fulfil, but orientations of the heart that, once genuinely adopted, accelerate the entire journey.
