Chapter V · Śloka 16
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
ज्ञानेन तु तदज्ञानं येषां नाशितमात्मनः |
तेषामादित्यवज्ज्ञानं प्रकाशयति तत्परम् ||
तेषामादित्यवज्ज्ञानं प्रकाशयति तत्परम् ||
jñānena tu tad ajñānaṃ yeṣāṃ nāśitam ātmanaḥ |
teṣām āditya-vaj jñānaṃ prakāśayati tat param ||
teṣām āditya-vaj jñānaṃ prakāśayati tat param ||
But in those for whom that ignorance of the self has been destroyed by knowledge — their knowledge illumines the supreme, like the sun.
When the cloud of ignorance is removed, the sun does not have to travel anywhere — it was always shining. Knowledge does not create the truth; it removes what was obscuring it. The revelation of the Self is not a new discovery but the dissolution of everything that was hiding what was already there.
