Chapter V · Śloka 17
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
तद्बुद्धयस्तदात्मानस्तन्निष्ठास्तत्परायणाः |
गच्छन्त्यपुनरावृत्तिं ज्ञाननिर्धूतकल्मषाः ||
गच्छन्त्यपुनरावृत्तिं ज्ञाननिर्धूतकल्मषाः ||
tad-buddhayas tad-ātmānas tan-niṣṭhās tat-parāyaṇāḥ |
gacchanty apunar-āvṛttiṃ jñāna-nirdhūta-kalmaṣāḥ ||
gacchanty apunar-āvṛttiṃ jñāna-nirdhūta-kalmaṣāḥ ||
Those whose intellect is in That, whose self is in That, whose steadfast abiding is in That, who have That as their supreme refuge — they go to non-return, their impurities shaken off by knowledge.
Four expressions of complete orientation toward the Absolute: the intelligence aimed there, the identity absorbed there, the stability rooted there, the refuge sought there. When all four converge, the stains of accumulated karma fall away and liberation from the cycle becomes irreversible.
