Chapter VI · Śloka 1
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
One who performs prescribed duty without attachment to results is both a sannyāsī and a yogī — not one who has merely abandoned the sacred fire or ceased from action.
The sannyāsī and the yogī are not defined by robes or rituals but by inner renunciation. The true renunciant acts in the world; the true yogi does not flee it. Both are characterized by the same quality: action without ownership of its fruit.
