Chapter VI · Śloka 7
जितात्मनः प्रशान्तस्य परमात्मा समाहितः |
शीतोष्णसुखदुःखेषु तथा मानापमानयोः ||
शीतोष्णसुखदुःखेषु तथा मानापमानयोः ||
jitātmanaḥ praśāntasya paramātmā samāhitaḥ |
śītoṣṇa-sukha-duḥkheṣu tathā māna-apamānayoḥ ||
śītoṣṇa-sukha-duḥkheṣu tathā māna-apamānayoḥ ||
For one who has conquered the self and who rests in tranquility, the Supersoul is already attained — in cold and heat, in pleasure and pain, in honor and dishonor alike.
The Paramātmā is not found by seeking but by the cessation of disturbance. When the conditioned reactions to temperature, comfort, and social status no longer move the self from its center, the divine presence — always already present — becomes apparent.
