Chapter VIII · Śloka 23
यत्र काले त्वनावृत्तिमावृत्तिं चैव योगिनः ।
प्रयाता यान्ति तं कालं वक्ष्यामि भरतर्षभ ॥

yatra kāle tv anāvṛttim āvṛttiṃ caiva yoginaḥ |
prayātā yānti taṃ kālaṃ vakṣyāmi bharatarṣabha ||

I shall now declare, O best of the Bharatas, the times at which yogis departing go to no-return, and at which they go to return.
Krishna transitions to the ancient doctrine of the two paths — the bright (uttarāyaṇa) leading to liberation and the dark (dakṣiṇāyana) leading to rebirth — a teaching found also in the Chāndogya and Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣads.
