Chapter I · Śloka 3
Duryodhana uvāca
पश्यैतां पाण्डुपुत्राणामाचार्य महतीं चमूम् |
व्यूढां द्रुपदपुत्रेण तव शिष्येण धीमता ||
paśyaitāṃ pāṇḍu-putrāṇām ācārya mahatīṃ camūm |
vyūḍhāṃ drupada-putreṇa tava śiṣyeṇa dhīmatā ||
O teacher, behold this great army of the sons of Pandu, arrayed by your wise disciple, the son of Drupada.
Duryodhana subtly reminds Drona that Dhrishtadyumna — who commands the opposing force — is Drona's own student, born precisely to kill him. It is a calculated needle: do you truly stand with us, teacher?
