Chapter XII · Śloka 14
सन्तुष्टः सततं योगी यतात्मा दृढनिश्चयः ।
मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्यो मद्भक्तः स मे प्रियः ॥
मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्यो मद्भक्तः स मे प्रियः ॥
santuṣṭaḥ satataṃ yogī yatātmā dṛḍha-niścayaḥ |
mayy arpita-mano-buddhir yo mad-bhaktaḥ sa me priyaḥ ||
mayy arpita-mano-buddhir yo mad-bhaktaḥ sa me priyaḥ ||
Always content, ever meditative, self-controlled, of firm resolve, with mind and intellect dedicated to Me — that devotee of Mine is dear to Me.
The inner qualities of the beloved devotee: constant contentment, steady contemplation, firm determination, and total offering of mind and intellect to Krishna. The refrain 'sa me priyaḥ' (he is dear to Me) will echo through the coming verses.
