Chapter XIII · Śloka 30
प्रकृत्यैव च कर्माणि क्रियमाणानि सर्वशः ।
यः पश्यति तथात्मानमकर्तारं स पश्यति ॥
prakṛtyaiva ca karmāṇi kriyamāṇāni sarvaśaḥ |
yaḥ paśyati tathātmānam akartāraṃ sa paśyati ||
One who sees that all actions are performed by prakṛti alone, and that the Self is the non-doer — that one truly sees.
The liberated vision sees that all actions belong to the guṇas of prakṛti and that the Ātman is the pure, actionless witness. The mistaken identification of the Self with the body-mind actor is the root of bondage; its dissolution is the root of freedom.
