Chapter XIV · Śloka 14
यदा सत्त्वे प्रवृद्धे तु प्रलयं याति देहभृत् ।
तदोत्तमविदां लोकानमलान्प्रतिपद्यते ॥
तदोत्तमविदां लोकानमलान्प्रतिपद्यते ॥
yadā sattve pravṛddhe tu pralayaṃ yāti deha-bhṛt |
tadottama-vidāṃ lokān amalān pratipadyate ||
tadottama-vidāṃ lokān amalān pratipadyate ||
If the embodied soul meets dissolution when sattva predominates, then it attains the pure worlds of the knowers of the Highest.
Death in a sattvic state — in clarity and wisdom — leads to the luminous realms inhabited by those who know the Supreme, a high and refined mode of continued existence.
