The deluded do not perceive the soul as it departs, dwells in a body, or experiences objects while associated with the guṇas. Only those with the eye of knowledge see it.
The soul's subtle movements — its departure at death, its residence in life, its enjoyment through the guṇas — are invisible to those clouded by ignorance and attachment. Those who have developed the inner eye of discriminative wisdom (jñāna-cakṣus) alone perceive these truths directly.
