Chapter XV · Śloka 11
यतन्तो योगिनश्चैनं
पश्यन्त्यात्मन्यवस्थितम् ।
यतन्तोऽप्यकृतात्मानो
नैनं पश्यन्त्यचेतसः ॥
पश्यन्त्यात्मन्यवस्थितम् ।
यतन्तोऽप्यकृतात्मानो
नैनं पश्यन्त्यचेतसः ॥
yatanto yoginaś cainaṃ
paśyanty ātmany avasthitam |
yatanto'py akṛtātmāno
nainaṃ paśyanty acetasaḥ ||
paśyanty ātmany avasthitam |
yatanto'py akṛtātmāno
nainaṃ paśyanty acetasaḥ ||
Striving yogis perceive it dwelling in the Self. But the unrefined, though striving, do not perceive it — the mindless ones.
Even among those who strive, only those who have purified the mind and disciplined themselves through sustained yogic practice actually perceive the Self within. Mere external effort without inner refinement of consciousness yields no vision of the ātman.
