Chapter XV · Śloka 14
अहं वैश्वानरो भूत्वा
प्राणिनां देहमाश्रितः ।
प्राणापानसमायुक्तः
पचाम्यन्नं चतुर्विधम् ॥
ahaṃ vaiśvānaro bhūtvā
prāṇināṃ deham āśritaḥ |
prāṇāpāna-samāyuktaḥ
pacāmy annaṃ catur-vidham ||
I become the digestive fire Vaiśvānara dwelling in the bodies of living beings, and united with the prāṇa and apāna breaths, I digest the four kinds of food.
Kṛṣṇa is the very fire of digestion within every body, cooking the four categories of food (eaten, sucked, licked, and drunk) aided by the vital breath forces. This declares the Lord as immanent in biological life itself, not merely in cosmic phenomena.
