Chapter XV · Śloka 13
गामाविश्य च भूतानि
धारयाम्यहमोजसा ।
पुष्णामि चौषधीः सर्वाः
सोमो भूत्वा रसात्मकः ॥
धारयाम्यहमोजसा ।
पुष्णामि चौषधीः सर्वाः
सोमो भूत्वा रसात्मकः ॥
gām āviśya ca bhūtāni
dhārayāmy aham ojasā |
puṣṇāmi cauṣadhīḥ sarvāḥ
somo bhūtvā rasātmakaḥ ||
dhārayāmy aham ojasā |
puṣṇāmi cauṣadhīḥ sarvāḥ
somo bhūtvā rasātmakaḥ ||
Entering the earth I uphold all beings with My energy; and becoming the nourishing soma, I nourish all herbs.
Kṛṣṇa reveals that He sustains all material existence from within: as the energy in the earth He supports all embodied life, and as the essential sap (soma) in plants He nourishes every creature through food. This is the Lord's immanence as the inner sustainer of the natural order.
