Chapter V · Śloka 8
Śrī Kṛṣṇa uvāca
नैव किञ्चित्करोमीति युक्तो मन्येत तत्त्ववित् |
पश्यञ्शृण्वन्स्पृशञ्जिघ्रन्नश्नन्गच्छन्स्वपञ्श्वसन् ||

naiva kiñcit karomīti yukto manyeta tattva-vit |
paśyañ śṛṇvan spṛśañ jighran aśnan gacchan svapañ śvasan ||

The knower of truth, being united in yoga, should think: 'I do nothing at all' — though seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, eating, walking, sleeping, breathing —
This verse begins a thought completed in the next. The sage performs all natural activities of the body while knowing at the deepest level that the self — pure awareness — is not the actor. The body and senses move; the self remains still.
