Chapter VI · Śloka 15
युञ्जन्नेवं सदात्मानं योगी नियतमानसः |
शान्तिं निर्वाणपरमां मत्संस्थामधिगच्छति ||
शान्तिं निर्वाणपरमां मत्संस्थामधिगच्छति ||
yuñjann evaṃ sadātmānaṃ yogī niyata-mānasaḥ |
śāntiṃ nirvāṇa-paramāṃ mat-saṃsthām adhigacchati ||
śāntiṃ nirvāṇa-paramāṃ mat-saṃsthām adhigacchati ||
Thus constantly engaging the self in yoga with a disciplined mind, the yogī reaches peace — the supreme nirvāṇa — which abides in Me.
Nirvāṇa here is not the Buddhist extinction of a separate self but the positive peace that remains when agitation ceases — a peace that 'abides in Me,' in the divine ground. The yogī does not disappear; they arrive at what they always were.
