Chapter XV · Śloka 4
ततः पदं तत्परिमार्गितव्यं
यस्मिन्गता न निवर्तन्ति भूयः ।
तमेव चाद्यं पुरुषं प्रपद्ये
यतः प्रवृत्तिः प्रसृता पुराणी ॥
यस्मिन्गता न निवर्तन्ति भूयः ।
तमेव चाद्यं पुरुषं प्रपद्ये
यतः प्रवृत्तिः प्रसृता पुराणी ॥
tataḥ padaṃ tat parimārgitavyaṃ
yasmin gatā na nivartanti bhūyaḥ |
tam eva cādyaṃ puruṣaṃ prapadye
yataḥ pravṛttiḥ prasṛtā purāṇī ||
yasmin gatā na nivartanti bhūyaḥ |
tam eva cādyaṃ puruṣaṃ prapadye
yataḥ pravṛttiḥ prasṛtā purāṇī ||
Then that supreme state must be sought, from which those who go there do not return again. 'I take refuge in that Primal Person from whom this ancient flow of creation has proceeded.'
Having severed attachment to saṃsāra, the seeker must pursue the transcendent abode beyond rebirth. The seeker surrenders to the Primeval Puruṣa, the very source from which all of manifest existence has streamed forth since beginningless time.
