Chapter II · Śloka 71
विहाय कामान्यः सर्वान्पुमांश्चरति निःस्पृहः |
निर्ममो निरहङ्कारः स शान्तिमधिगच्छति ||
vihāya kāmān yaḥ sarvān pumāṃś carati niḥspṛhaḥ |
nirmamo nirahaṅkāraḥ sa śāntim adhigacchati ||
That person who lives free from all desires, without longing, without the sense of 'mine', without ego — that one attains peace.
Three defining negations: niḥspṛhā (no yearning), nirmama (no possessiveness), nirahaṅkāra (no ego). Together they describe not a hollow absence but the positive freedom of one who has discovered that the Self already contains everything.
