Chapter VI · Śloka 42
अथवा योगिनामेव कुले भवति धीमताम् ।
एतद्धि दुर्लभतरं लोके जन्म यदीदृशम् ॥
एतद्धि दुर्लभतरं लोके जन्म यदीदृशम् ॥
athavā yoginām eva
kule bhavati dhīmatām |
etad dhi durlabhataraṃ
loke janma yad īdṛśam ||
kule bhavati dhīmatām |
etad dhi durlabhataraṃ
loke janma yad īdṛśam ||
Or he is born into a family of wise yogis — a birth such as this is even rarer to obtain in this world.
Birth in a lineage of practitioners is presented as the greater gift: the aspirant inherits not only intellectual aptitude but an atmosphere of sādhana, living examples, and transmitted wisdom — conditions that make progress in this very life far more likely.
